Kilo comprises a milled cylinder of blackened solid steel and a silken shade, linked by a slender tube finished in polished nickel or brass. The pairing of small base and large shade seems to defy rules of balance. The lamp's appearance of greater stability acts as a balancing contrast to offset its elegant slender esthetics.
