The Seri, name is derived from the word meaning 'light', in a local dialect of the Kgalagadi region languages, and often pronounced as Kalahari. The Seri objects consist of a collection of candle holders and bowls. The carving applied to the piece, contrasted with the smooth, concave top surface. The results of pairing these details is a series of compelling objects that are both sculptural and functional.
The seri objects are also produced with distressed white paint accenting their textured perimeter. This finish is inspired by the typical white finishes applied to African masks and sculptures.
